Sheer Roman Shades

Sheer Roman Shades

New Product Alert

The most popular shade we offer, now available in sheer fabrics! Sheer Roman Shades. A fresh take on a classic style, Roman Shades in sheer fabrics are making a major comeback.

Sheer Shades are a beautiful way to bring softness and a glow to your room without sacrificing the view outside. Because the fabric is slightly sheer, you’ll still have a subtle view outside while enjoying soft sunlight.

Where to put these shades:

Sheer Roman Shades work beautifully in nearly any room of the house. They’re ideal for windows where you want the shade lowered for most of the day without sacrificing natural light, or where you’d still like a subtle view to the outside. Think office spaces or hallway windows, where you want the light diffused rather than fully blocked.

They’re also a great option for windows that already have drapery and could benefit from an additional layer of light control. For example, if you have blackout drapery in a bedroom but don’t want to keep the room dark all day, adding Sheer Roman Shades gives you flexibility - soft, filtered light during the day and full privacy and darkness at night. As Hannah Montana would say, the best of both worlds.

Colors:

Biscotti: The warmest sheer hue we offer, offering a nice contrast on white walls.

Ivory: A warmer white sheer, ideal for homes with warmer wall tones or spaces where you want to add a warm glow.

Pearl: A soft white fabric with more visible hatching, a versatile, easy choice that works beautifully in every room of the home.

Porcelain: A crisp white fabric and the brightest white option we offer for our Sheer Roman Shades.

Lining Options:

Our Sheer Roman Shades are available unlined or self-lined, allowing you to choose the level of structure and light filtering that best suits your space.

The unlined option features a single layer of sheer fabric for the lightest, most airy look with the greatest visibility to the outdoors.

The self-lined option uses two layers of the same sheer fabric to add subtle structure, slightly more coverage, and enhanced light diffusion.

Designer Tip: Wanting privacy? In that case, we recommend pairing Sheer Roman Shades with drapery so you can have the best of both worlds.

Details:

Because sheer fabrics are delicate, they should be handled with extra care, and the lifting cords will be faintly visible from the front. Depending on your windows, lighting, and reflections, these shades are not intended to provide privacy. Each shade is highly functional for frequent use and is available with either a cordless mechanism or a silver beaded chain loop. A permanent bottom fold with a weighted bar helps the folds stack neatly, and blind hems are used, though small stitches may be visible where the operating rings are sewn.
