What Drapery Style is Right For You?

When it comes to window treatments, the amount of choices can be daunting. Selections must be made for drapery style, fabric, size, lining - and never mind all of the additional factors that we decide for you - drapery fullness, weighted corners, leading edge and more! There is a lot of very specific jargon and drapery know-how that goes into creating the perfect custom window panel for your home.

The good news is that we want the process to be as simple and as streamlined for you as possible. We have the know-how and you know what you like, and together we make the perfect window treatment tag-team! The first step to order drapery (other than ordering fabric swatches - which we highly recommend!) is to decide what style drapery meets your needs and your aesthetic preferences.

At Loom Decor we offer six distinct styles of drapery which all have their own look and benefits. You may look at one style and just know that it is the one for you, but if you are on the fence read on to learn more about each style.

Convertible Drapery

Our most popular offering, Convertible Drapery is a window treatment of our own design. This style is incredibly versatile and works with any design aesthetic. We call it “convertible” because it includes drapery pins, to be hung on rings, but also has a rod pocket so you can hang it directly on a drapery rod. Convert it to whichever style you prefer! When hung on rings these drapes are very easy to open and close and are perfect for high-use windows.

Ripplefold Drapery

Ripplefold Drapery is a designer’s dream! This drapery style is sleek and modern. Ripplefold drapery cannot be hung on rings or a rod. This style must be hung on ripplefold track hardware, which can be wall mounted or ceiling mounted. This drapery is very easy to open and close, making it a great choice for windows in high traffic areas.

Grommet Drapery

Grommet Drapery is a contemporary option perfect for windows where the drapery does not need to open and close often. This style of drapery is hung directly on a rod, through the grommet holes in the drapery. It is often used as decorative stationary panels.

Pinch Pleat Drapery

Pleated draperies offer a more formal look. Our Pinch Pleat Drapery is our most traditional style. These drapes are very functional and can be hung on rings, using the included drapery pins, or on a pleated drapery track hardware system.

Back Tab Drapery

Back Tab Drapery is a contemporary style of drapery that is hung directly on a rod using the hidden back tabs sewn into the panel. This style is better suited for decorative stationary panels or windows where the drapery will not be opened and closed everyday.

Euro Pleat Drapery

Our Euro Pleat Drapery offer an updated look to the more traditional Pinch Pleat Drapery. These panels are tacked at the very top of the pleat, creating a more modern look. These panels are perfect for anyone looking to combine traditional high-end style with a more modern aesthetic. Like their Pinch Pleat counterpart, these panels are very functional and can be hung on rings, using the included drapery pins, or on a pleated drapery track hardware system.
