Get the Loom Look with Alex Drummond

Let us introduce you to Alex Drummond! You may know her on Instagram as @alexmariedrum. We had the pleasure of collaborating with Alex and her team to enhance her nursery with some beautifully crafted custom drapery.

Why are nurseries so fun to design? We believe they offer people a chance to get truly creative - playing with fun colors, themes and an opportunity to show your personal style. We especially love when drapery, crib skirts, and pillows are made in a matching fabric for an adorable and cohesive touch.

Why did we select these details? Find out below!

Blackout Lining:
For nurseries, we always recommend doing drapery (or Roman shades!) with Blackout Lining. Blackout lining is completely opaque, so no light will filter through at all. The blackout lining is designed to completely block out light and features a white material - perfect for nap time throughout the day or early morning sunrises.

Newport Hardware:
We love our Newport Hardware Line for many reasons! This line offers rings that have a liner fused to the inside of the ring, allowing a smooth traverse across the hardware - protecting the finish and preventing annoying squeaks. Perfect for subtly opening and closing drapery in a quiet nursery. Available in multiple finishes and finials to match your aesthetic.

Fabric:
We can't take credit for this selection! Alex's team chose from multiple blue fabric swatches and ended up going with our Murali Mist fabric. They wanted to select blue drapery to help balance out all the pink in the room, and you simply cannot go wrong with a blue stripe drapery for a nursery.
