What design advice would you give to someone looking to pick out window treatments for their home?

Take your time! The process of figuring out what window treatments are right for our home took me a LONG time. It's a big commitment and something you want to really think about. I  found it so helpful to set up a free design consultation with Lisa from Loom Decor. On our video call, she told me exactly where to measure, gave me advice on types of window treatments that might work best for my needs/wants, and wrote all the dimensions. She helped me order 20+ fabric samples, and it took me 2+ months to decide on what fabric I  liked best. I'm glad that I didn't rush the process and really allowed myself to think about it, and see how the fabric samples looked in different rooms and different times of day/lighting changes. I  still need to order window treatments for other rooms in our home, but I'm taking my time and not forcing myself to rush through 'finishing it' all at once.

Why did you pick the "Fleur de Leaf" fabrics for your home?

I picked the Fleur de Leaf in True Blue fabric for our living room roman shades, and the Fleur de Leaf in Blossom fabric for our kitchen and pantry cafe curtains.  The colors, pattern, and texture just felt right for our home. ✨  It feels elevated, but not at all stuffy. I also love having the same pattern, but different color/type of window treatment in multiple rooms in our house - it creates a nice cohesive thread between rooms.

How would you describe your design style?

Inviting, modern traditional, textured, playful, lived-in, travel-inspired, forever evolving.

What was your favorite part of this design process for this project?

It was really fun to receive all of the fabric samples and figure out which one(s) might work best for our space. The process of working with Lisa and having a design consultant help me with the nitty gritty measurements and give feedback on what window treatment type would work best for each window was invaluable.

Do you feel that custom Roman Shades elevated your overall design compared to standard blinds?

ABSOLUTELY! I've ordered standard blinds before, mostly blackout blinds for kids' rooms, but they don't compare at all with the shades we ordered from Loom. The fabrics and textures are truly so beautiful. We've gotten so many compliments on all on all three window shades we've ordered and I love all of them so much.
